What is a Vacation villa or Vacation Rental?

A Villa or a Vacation Rental is a home away from home. Instead of staying in a hotel you stay at a comfortable house that meets all your requirements. Aruba Happy Rentals offers a variety of sizes, styles and vacation homes types. Units can range from studios to two, three, four, five bedrooms or even 6 bedrooms, sleeping up to 12 or more guests comfortably. Budget or luxurious, with or without pool, beachfront or just a few minutes distance of the beaches: there is a vacation rental that will satisfy everyone! All our vacation villa’s, homes, condo’s, apartments are Self-catering so that means you can make your own meals to save money, stock your refrigerator with beverages of choice- again to save on costs.

Hotels are for tourists, but private villas and vacation homes give you a much better feel of 'real life' in Aruba. Your visit just feels more authentic when you stay in a private residence. Besides the fact that a villa offers you much more privacy.

What is included?

Each property is completely setup for vacation rentals, fully furnished with everything you need, just bring your suitcase! A villa owner supplies the basics and then the guests purchase any additional supplies they may need for their stay. Basic supplies: Some Toilette paper, cleaning supplies and some villa’s has some spices.

What happens if there is a problem with a villa?

Aruba Happy Rentals property management staff is available 24/7 for emergencies. A dedicated staff is there to help.

Can I put a villa into your program?

Yes, you can put a villa into our program for us to rent for you as a vacation rental for a short term or a long term program. We can also add to do your property management which is very handy while you are away, we check the house, pay your bills and make sure everything is in order and we market your property.


Booking Process

Do you have a special check-in day for a weekly rental?

You are welcome at any day of the week, as long as our villas are available. So you can choose what fits you best!

When do we have to pay and how do we pay?

We require a 50% to be settled when making the reservation with us and final payment to be made at one month prior your arrival. Payments are accepted via credit cards or bank transfers.

Is there a required length of stay?

Our rates on the website are quoted weekly, for any additional nights the weekly rate will be divided by 7. Shorter stays are possible, but ask for our price quote.

Do you pick us up at the airport?

No. We will wait for you at the villa to check you in and give you the keys and instructions of the villa. We require you to please give us a call when leaving the airport to know exactly when to expect you at the villa. Please keep in mind that we schedule our host or hostess to check you in according to your flight arrival time. Therefore we kindly ask you to please go directly to the villa before going to the beach, supermarket or restaurants.

Transfers or Car Rental?

Upon request we can arrange a private airport transfer for you to the villa or we can arrange a car rental for you which can either pick-up and drop-off the rental car at the airport or at your vacation accommodation. The latter is often very convenient when traveling with children or with 4 or more persons. Extra services provided upon request.

What about late check in?

It might occur that, for any reason, you will arrive in the late evening or even in the middle of the night. Of course we will be of service to bring you to or welcome you at the house. Please make an arrangement with our office when you know you will have a late check-in.

Can I rent long term?

Yes, we have properties that are available for long term rentals. We consider 6 months or longer as long term, everything less than that is short term. Find our long term properties here.


Location and amenities

Where are the villas located?

All our villas are conveniently located close to the beaches, restaurants and nightlife. Some of them on walking distance and some of them within a 5 minutes drive!

What are the amenities and what do I have to bring?

Large TV's, music systems, game tables, BBQ's and more are often included in the vacation property. Plus, some vacation rentals even come with access to things like nearby tennis courts or golf courses, too. No hotel can compete with the amenities you will find in many vacation rentals. Most of the houses have everything, however sometimes you want to bring extra beach towels.

What services and extra amenities do you provide?

We can provide extra services like; housekeeping, concierge services, in-house spa & massage, private chef to prepare your diner, grocery shopping service, airport pick up, telephone rental, car rental and many more.

Do I need a car?

Sometimes it is required to have a car, but we also have public bus service and taxi! The prices to rent a car depends on the type of car you choose and the duration. Please contact us for more information.

What about beaches?

All our villas are conveniently located at driving distance to the beach. All the beaches in Aruba are public, most of them offers huts and Palapas for shade and you can get beach chairs for $5-$10 for the whole day.

Do I have to pay for utilities?

Our Weekly rentals has an allowance for water and electric usage. Every accommodation is different. The Cable, Internet, septic service and gas are included. The island has just one electric and water company. Utilities are expensive in Aruba. Many of our guests are first-time villa renters and are accustomed to having the A/C 24x7 at a hotel or timeshare, so we just stress the importance of being conscientious. You pay for the utilities at hotels/timeshares too; it's just hidden. Our approach is very transparent. We take the meter readings with you at arrival and at check-out and charge you exactly what we would be charged and not a penny more, then credit you our allowance for the week.
